Kathleen Kane Announces Special Prosecutor

Embattled PA Attorney General Kathleen Kane held a press conference Tuesday at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia to announce the formation of a team of special prosecutors to investigate the offensive emails at the center of the scandal that has become known as “Porngate.”
Kane has tapped former Maryland Attorney General Douglas Gansler to lead the probe, which will include the review of tens of thousands of emails sent and received on state-owned computers.

Critics question Kane’s motives in launching the probe and her authority to name a special prosecutor given the suspension of her law license by the PA Supreme Court.

Just prior to Tuesday’s event, uncensored pornographic images – presumably from some of the emails in question – were displayed on a large screen in the auditorium where the press conference was held.
